SOLD 05/2022! This is one of the very first 'Sterling series' Stingray basses made and it features the full slab body found on early Made in USA Stingray basses. It's just a cool design feature that goes unnoticed unless you know the history of them. Plus, the bass weighs 8 3/4 lbs so it's not like the 'slab' adds substantially to the playing weight. The tone has the distinctive nasal growl of a Stingray so you know it sticks to its design roots. The maple neck plays great and the butterscotch finish is a bit out of the ordinary. I dinged the lower bout but was able to stabilize the finish; I'm too lazy to touch it up so I simply lowered the price a few bucks. This was Made in Indonesia well before production shifted to China and quality control was hit-or-miss after that. Comes in a pretty good gig bag.
